Theatergoers are in for a real treat this May when the WYO Theater and Cheyenne Little Theatre Guild present Michael Frayn’s hilarious play-within-a-play, “Noises Off.” This satirical look at the creation of a play follows the many personalities that come together to produce an outrageous British bedroom farce. We get to see how these characters interact with each other as they try to make it through rehearsal, all while creating a fun night out for theater patrons. With its witty dialogue and comical situations, “Noises Off” is sure to be an entertaining evening of laughter and lighthearted entertainment! So don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to experience a classic comedy in a safe and socially distanced setting.
The 1992 film adaptation of Michael Frayn’s play, ‘Noises Off‘, showcased some of the most recognizable stereotypes in Commedia dell’Arte. From the aging actress striving for one more show-stopping performance to the blustering leading man who mustered more energy on stage than off, each character was brought to life by the talented actors. Now, I’m excited to join a new production of ‘Noises Off’ as the director! While Michael Caine brilliantly played this role in the movie, I plan to make my performance entirely my own. I’m grateful for the challenge and look forward to embarking on a new journey with an old-favorite play. Let the show begin!
