On a sunny Saturday morning, the Sheridan County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall held an event commemorating ten years of service and growth for the organization founded by Carla Crayton. The staff members attended the celebration together with volunteers, donors, and members of the community, who were all eager to recognize the accomplishments made in such a short time. As attendees enjoyed coffee and baked goods, Carla thanked those present for their dedication before recognizing individual achievements with awards. It was a special occasion that the community remembers for many years.

Sheridan Foster Parent Exchange, established in 2013 by Crayton and her foster daughter Treylah Smith, was the first organization of its kind in Wyoming. Initially, Crayton and Treylah managed everything from their living room. In the years since, however, the organization has seen remarkable growth: It now reaches counties all over Wyoming, including Powell and Goshen. Sheridan Foster Parent Exchange connects children in foster care with loving and supportive parents and families. The organization also provides essential educational, promotional, and fundraising services to enable foster parents to continue their work in the community. The tremendous success of Sheridan Foster Parent Exchange is due to the incredible dedication of its staff and volunteers.
Exchange Event
At the annual Sheridan Foster Parent Exchange event, staff and volunteers were honored for their hard work and dedication. Volunteer Anna Wooten received an award for exemplifying the organization’s core values with her enthusiasm and commitment to its cause. Crayton also acknowledged driver John Krezelok for his tireless efforts in transporting people and resources and Capacity Builder Brooke Robinson’s unwavering loyalty to the cause. These individuals were celebrated for their contributions and appreciated for their dedication.
It was a proud moment to give away awards, certificates of appreciation, and everything in between. The Sheridan Foster Parent Exchange is grateful to have such amazing people on board that share its mission and values. Together, they are helping to create a brighter future for everyone!
The Ramaco Foundation recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of Sheridan Foster Parent Exchange by generously matching a $5,000 donation from Fireproof Fencing and Joe and Natalie Steiger. This generous contribution will help ensure the organization continues its essential community work.
For the next decade, FPE plans to prioritize initiatives that support keeping children with their families and out of the foster care system. To this end, Crayton has outlined a series of measures to help ensure kids remain safely in their homes.
