Led by Extension Educator Jeff Edwards, the free events allow participants to not only construct their own frame on site, but also get familiar with skinning techniques. Additionally, there is a new UW Extension geodome manual available for $20 which outlines how to create a 10-sided geodesic dome with over 330 square feet of farmable space. We are proud to announce that Edwards will be leading the construction of three domes at the Wyoming State Fairgrounds from Tuesday, June 11 to Friday, June 14. The design features a trio of domes connected with walkways and has been developed by Edwards to create greater efficiency in accommodating space needs. Volunteers are invited to meet at 7:30 a.m. on the western side of the maintenance building each morning. Furthermore, for those who would like to pair hands-on experience with written instructions, UW Extension’s new geodome manual is available for purchase at the Douglas events for $20. This manual outlines constructing a 10-sided 22-foot geodesic dome with approximately 355 square feet of farmable space. No meal is provided, but participants will be given a lunch break throughout the day.
If you are interested in obtaining a copy of the manual, please contact Edwards at jedward4@uwyo.edu or (307) 837-2956.
