Join the WYO PLAY Middle School Drama Club at their upcoming performance. “The Killer Story of the Story Killers” is an original short play about four friends who embark on a mysterious adventure. On March 10th, The facilitators will transport audiences to a summer camp where tales around the campfire take an unexpected turn. Experience this thrilling story filled with enchantments and botched adventures at the WYO Performing Arts and Education Center starting at 6 p.m.
As their tales unfold, each one takes a drastic turn – leaving the audience to witness an adventure that is anything but traditional. From Hansel and Gretel turned into the villains to Cinderella’s angry rampage, Romeo and Juliet’s happily-ever-after ending, and Goldilocks’ trip to the 1950s Memphis – this original short play promises plenty of surprises.
Sheridan County School District 1 and WYO PLAY are teaming up to provide a remarkable opportunity for Tongue River Middle School students and Big Horn Middle School. Starting in January, both groups have begun meeting with the same director, Grace Cannon-Wallace, to prepare for an upcoming joint performance on March 10th. Over the next few weeks, the students will practice and refine their performance skills to develop a single captivating show.
Experience the Unexpected: WYO PLAY Middle School Drama Club
In the classic story, four friends gathered around a fire and regaled each other with beloved tales of old. They shared versions of Hansel and Gretel, Cinderella, Romeo and Juliet, and Goldilocks – though with a twist! Instead of being true to the traditional storylines, the familiar characters experience unexpected events. In this version of Hansel and Gretel, the witch is the good guy. Cinderella goes on an angry rampage, and Romeo and Juliet live happily ever after. Goldilocks embarks on a new journey leading her to Memphis in 1950s America, where she meets none other than Elvis!
