A partnership between the University of Wyoming, Wyoming Business Council and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), it has earned a score of 100 in its NIST impact metrics report. This is based on data including the number of manufacturing companies served, jobs created and retained, new and retained sales, and cost savings and investments made by businesses using Manufacturing Works’ services.
The program’s success is a true testament to the leadership and dedication of its team.
Manufacturing Works has been instrumental in aiding Electrichlor LLC, based out of Laramie, to reach new heights. From providing water treatment and cathodic protection, to helping them field engineer and manufacture on-site hypochlorite generation systems for ocean-going vessels, Manufacturing Works has enabled Electrichlor to diversify into the municipal water cleansing system market. Darwin Keeney, Electrichlor’s Sales and Operations Manager, is especially grateful for their assistance in finding the perfect UW Chemical Engineering Intern as well as securing a grant from the state Department of Workforce Services.
To help Electrichlor to reach an even higher level of success, Manufacturing Works is now helping them prepare for their NIST 800-171 self-assessment and submit a system security plan to the supplier performance risk system, in order to increase their chances of securing further work from NASA as well as U.S. Department of Defense prime contractors.
Manufacturing Works provided the expertise of 4th State Communications, a Wyoming-based cyber expert, to help Electrichlor document and solidify their internal cyber standards. They also helped them submit their self-assessment within the tight two-week deadline set by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). Electrichlor Engineering Manager Bill Schroyer expressed his appreciation for the help that Manufacturing Works provided.
Moser Engine Service Inc., with its headquarters in Casper, Wyoming, is an esteemed leader in the power generation and industrial engine industries. Their natural gas generators and diesel generators are designed to be dependable and efficient in both urban and harsh conditions. As Moser’s business grew, they needed to increase their engineering change management (ECM) system and capacity. Manufacturing Works stepped in to provide a practical solution by implementing Microsoft ECM and utilizing UW engineering and MBA students to make updates cost-effectively. Through this collaboration, Moser was able to expand their ECM system and continue their growth.
The great success of the project has resulted in Moser Energy hiring one of the UW interns from the project. His professional contributions to the company and expertise have already made an impact, and his future with the company looks promising. This successful endeavor was a perfect example of how local talent can help propel Wyoming into emerging and high-tech markets.
Wyoming Completion Technologies Inc. has achieved ISO 9001 certification, resulting in increased attention and visibility. This has opened many doors to new contracts and expanded opportunities for international business.
