The Wyoming National Guard is conducting an emergency response exercise, Vigilant Guard 23-3, from June 12-15 in order to ensure preparedness and public safety. This four-day immersive simulation will involve military personnel, first responders, homeland security/emergency management officials, and other stakeholders coming together at various locations throughout the state. In addition to giving insight as to how teams of emergency professionals might coordinate, the exercise provides an effective starting point for larger communities and organizations when it comes to improving response capabilities, organization procedures, and communication system integrity. Residents of nine counties may notice an influx of emergency personnel, vehicles, and aircraft due to the exercise. The public are advised to follow any instructions given by law enforcement or emergency personnel.

Residents of Campbell, Crook, Johnson, Laramie, Natrona, Park, Platte, Sheridan, and Weston counties may be aware of increased emergency personnel, vehicles, and aircraft presence in their area. These activities are part of the exercise and are not indicative of any actual emergency.
The Wyoming National Guard takes great pride in its ability to ensure the safety and security of its communities and Vigilant Guard 23-3 is an opportunity to demonstrate their steadfast commitment to preparedness. In order to maintain the integrity of the exercise, temporary road closures or traffic diversions near exercise locations may be necessary and it is advised to follow any instructions given by law enforcement or emergency personnel.
